Advisory
Independent advice. Your decision.
You bring the decision or the situation. I help you see it clearly, including what your own reporting line leaves out, so you can decide well.

01 / When to call me
Five situations worth a call.
- A strategy is not landing, although everyone in the room agreed to it.
- Your board or executive team is out of alignment, and it shows in what stalls.
- A problem keeps surviving restructures.
- A decision will be hard to undo: an acquisition, a sale or a senior replacement.
- You are the first in your family to run something this size.
Something else? If it is a decision in front of you, it is worth the call.
02 / What is included
What an engagement includes.
Sessions with you
Focused on the decision and nothing else, as often as the decision needs.
Access when it matters
When something happens between sessions, you can call me.
Conversations with your people
Where it helps, I talk to members of your team one to one and sit in on meetings, so my advice is based on more than one version of events. I never tell you who said what.
Leadership team sessions
When your leadership team needs to work a decision through together, I run the session.
What happens next
We decide together whether to stop or continue. If the problem turns out to be one that keeps coming back, I will say so, and tell you what a full investigation would involve.
Advisory does not end in a written report. A problem that keeps coming back needs a full investigation, which is the work of FranklySpeaking, the firm I founded and lead. FranklySpeaking
03 / Who it is for, and how it is priced
Priced on the value of the decision.
For chief executives, managing directors, chairs and boards of organisations where a wrong decision is expensive and quickly becomes public.
One fee, agreed before we start
The fee reflects what the decision is worth to you, not the hours it takes. You know the cost before the first session.
As long as the decision needs
Six weeks for a single sign-off. Eighteen months or longer through a major change. We agree the length when we agree the fee.
A small number of clients at a time
Advice is only worth having if I am available when it matters, so I limit how many engagements run at once.
04 / Start here
Start with a conversation.
We talk about you and the decision in front of you. By the end, you know the right next step, even if it is not me.
